Advocacy Campaign - NJ’s Fight for Funding

The Diabetes Foundation, a New Jersey-based nonprofit, is dedicated to improving the health of those living with or at-risk of diabetes through equitable, accessible care and support. To address rising diabetes rates and underfunded programs in New Jersey, the Foundation partnered with Rizco to launch a compelling advocacy campaign urging increased federal funding that would flow down to the state level. The campaign was designed to raise public awareness, mobilize support, and influence lawmakers within a one-month timeframe.

Rizco delivered a strategic, multi-channel initiative combining emotional impact with a clear call-to-action: sign a petition urging federal leaders to prioritize diabetes funding. The campaign drove visibility, engagement, and momentum toward meaningful policy change.

To support the campaign, we designed and developed a dedicated advocacy website with one clear goal: to drive petition signatures in support of urgent federal funding for diabetes prevention and care. This focused, action-driven platform was built to educate, engage, and compel visitors to take immediate action. It features an overview of the diabetes epidemic, eye-opening state-specific statistics and funding gaps, and powerful personal stories—all building toward the central call-to-action: say “yes” to federal funding. With a clean layout, intuitive navigation, and clear pathways to action, the site was strategically crafted to turn awareness into advocacy.

Amplifying Our Reach.

To amplify reach and drive petition signatures, Rizco executed a targeted digital strategy that included PPC campaigns across search, display, and social media platforms. Each ad was designed to attract attention, convey urgency, and direct users straight to the petition.

In addition to paid efforts, a strong social media campaign was developed, featuring powerful personal stories, key statistics, and facts about the diabetes epidemic in New Jersey to drive awareness and engagement. A compelling email campaign was also created to emphasize the issue and prompt immediate action. Every touchpoint worked together to build momentum and drive results.

Appealing to Lawmakers.

To support grassroots advocacy and stakeholder outreach, Rizco also developed print and digital materials to emphasize New Jersey’s urgent diabetes crisis and encourage support. Each piece featured impactful statistics and a clear call-to-action, including a prominent QR code linking directly to the advocacy website where lawmakers could easily learn more and sign the petition. This approach made it simple for key decision-makers to access the facts and take immediate action.
