Maggie Nagle is one of Rizco’s graphic designers by day. By night, you can find her practicing indoor rock climbing. Learn more about Maggie in our latest installment of “Getting to Know.”

How long have you been at Rizco? What is your role?

I have been at Rizco for two-and-a-half years now! I am a graphic designer and I work on all the varying creative needs of the company – whether that is print, branding, digital, advertising, social, or web design.

Describe your typical day.

Dependent upon the project and deadlines at hand, I am working on various client needs at once. This week I have been primarily working on wireframes for a big website that we are designing for International Wine Center.

Where did you go to college? What was your major?

I went to Ramapo College of New Jersey – class of 2015. I majored in visual communication design (Ramapo’s graphic design major) and minored in visual arts with a focus in photography. I was also on the swim team, which is really where I spent most of my time.

People would be surprised to know…

People are usually pretty surprised to hear that I have four siblings (three sisters and one brother). I am the second oldest in the birth order.

Where does your inspiration come from?

Inspiration can come from anywhere, but I can say that I am inspired by simple, well thought-out solutions to complex problems. Simplicity is oftentimes one of the toughest things to really achieve and pull off, but it lends itself to an un-paralleled elegance.

What is one of your most favorite projects at Rizco?

One of my favorite projects so far is the website I am working on currently for International Wine Center. Another favorite of mine would be the IEEE REACH branding and website design. We were able to develop REACH from the ground up and it is rewarding knowing that our design is used as a non-profit resource for the education of young students.

Maggie has recently started rock climbing and has a belay certification!

We know you love to travel. If you could live anywhere, where would you live and why?

Sydney! New Zealand is a close second. I studied abroad in Sydney for five months during my last year of college and I cannot wait to move back … I’ve been to some cool places since then, but my heart goes back to Sydney.

Any hobbies? What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy exploring new places and taking my camera along. I have also recently started rock climbing, but if it’s nice out, you can find me at the beach.

What is your favorite Pantone color?

Good question. I don’t think as a designer you can have a favorite. They all have their time and place.

What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?

“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson.

If you could be any animal, what would you be?

Sloths are my favorite animals; so find me posted up in a tree in Costa Rica.

Maggie’s favorite animal may be the sloth, but she didn’t mind becoming friends with this koala while studying abroad in Sydney.
